Miles in action

MASTER MILES KIFFMANN

is the only nationally/internationally ranked Taekwondo athlete on Maui and the youngest Kukkiwon certified Master (4th Dan Black Belt) in Hawaii. He is currently a 4.0 student at University of Hawaii. After a tragic accident in his last year as a top junior competitor, which left him out of commission for a year, Miles persevered and came back strong, making it to Quarterfinals in the Olympic divisions at Nationals twice in a row. Miles is a top level coach to many national medalists, and also has a passion for jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts.

2008 becomes first and to this date only Maui Junior(14-17) athlete to medal at the Korea Open and one of only two US athletes to reach the final round.
2008 becomes first and to this date only Maui Junior(14-17) athlete to medal in a Black Belt World class division at US Nationals.




Camy in action

CAMRYN HENRY

is 13 years old and in the 9th grade at Baldwin High School.  She has been studying Taekwondo since 2006 and received her black belt in 2010. Cammy has focused her attention on sparring and has medaled in national competition at the Black Belt World Class level 3 times. She was last year's national cadet team alternate. This year Cammy anticipates making the US National team.

Camryn’s Taekwondo journey has benefited her in many ways.  She has developed a strong sense of self and carries herself with quiet confidence.  The perseverance and determination that she has developed has helped her throughout school where she maintains 3.7 – 4.0 GPA. Camryn aspires to compete at the Olympic Level and to become a Veterinarian.

Josh in action

JOSHUA KEPLER

is one of three highly accomplished Kiffmann black belt competitors shooting for a spot on the US National team this year.

Josh is a 4.0 student in the 9th grade at Kihei Charter School, and was twice selected “Most Likely to Succeed” at his school as well. In 2012, he earned the High Honors award in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) talent search, and has been enrolled in CTY courses since 2009. Josh enjoys spear fishing, hiking, and reading.

WILLIAM POHAKU KEPLER

started taekwondo when he was four, and is a five-time state sparring champion.  A 5th grader at Kihei Charter Elementary, William has twice earned high honors in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth talent search and has excelled in his above grade level curricula.  Will.I.Am enjoys playing piano, fishing, and swimming.

DEVEN BIO

has been a student at Kiffmann Taekwondo since fifth grade. About two years ago, he was asked to join the competition team and now he attends class nearly everyday. Taekwondo has taught Devin focus, discipline, and respect for hard work. At Iao School he maintained a 3.8 cumulative GPA and will be a freshman at Baldwin this fall. Deven enjoys laughing, hanging out with his friends, and running. He has participated in several 5K's and Hana Relays and looks forward to Track and Cross Country at Baldwin. Deven will be competing as a red belt at Nationals.

CASSIE KEPLER

joined taekwondo as her boys Josh and William Pohaku became black belts.  A long-time runner, Cassie appreciates the challenge, discipline, and bonding that taekwondo gives her family. She teaches history for Hawai`i Pacific University and is a Board Member of the Kiffmann Taekwondo, Inc. Booster Club. Cassie has competed against athlete twice as young as she is with amazing victory results. Cassie will be competing as a blue belt at Nationals.

REYNALDO SEGUNDO

joined Kiffman Taekwondo last year and is one of the very promising TKD athletes in Hawaii. He will be competing as a blue belt at Nationals.

A fifth grader at Lihikai School, Reynaldo is an active member of Lihikai School Basketball team and JPO. Reynaldo also maintains strong focus on his studies. In his free time, Reynaldo loves to swim, skate board, and play basketball.
