2006 KOREAN OPEN RESULTS

Jensen Ishida(male junior bantam)and Jarred Mckee(male junior fly)from Oahu Taekwondo Center both captured silver medals for the USA at one of the most competitive tournaments on the planet, the Korean Open in Seoul, Korea with 434 athletes and officials from 40 countries. .They were the only US competitors to medal at this event. Both were only defeated by Korea in the finals with TV cameras rolling and all Korean spectators cheering for their players.

Congratulations to the Oahu Team and coach Brian McCutcheon on this huge success !!!!!!

2006 CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Miles Kiffmann: Gold in Poomse and Gold in Sparring
Kathryn Kiffmann: Gold in Poomse and Gold in Sparring

USAT NATIONAL QUALFIER
April 22 & 23, 2006 in Anaheim, California

Kiffmann Taekwondo sent 12 athletes to the USAT World Division Qualifier in Anaheim on April 22 & 23. 19 medals were taken at the end of this 2 day event.

5 Kiffmann students qualified for the Black Belt World Division to be held at the US Taekwondo Jr. Olympics in Atlanta July 5-9: Chelsea Davis, Miles Kiffmann, Ciara Thyne, Andrea Thyne and Kavyka Souza. Chelsea Davis, Kanani Davis and Jessica Thyne qualified for the World Division to be held at the US Taekwondo Sr. Nationals in Cleveland, Ohio in November.

Highlights:In the 12-13 year old Black belt Flyweight Division Miles Kiffmann won 3 matches and took silver after sudden death with Californias' Matthew Ramirez, who defeated 2006 US Open Champion Luke Chiang in the opening match. Welterweight Chelsea Davis took silver in the 14-17 Black belt Division losing by one point to 2006 US Open Silver medalist Carolina Estrada, and Flyweight Ciara Thyne won 3 matches and took Gold in the 12-13 Black Belt Division. Finally, Kiffmann Taekwondo instructor Michael Balderas, age 56, received huge applause after taking the gold medal in Poomse in the 18-32 mens Black Belt division.
